American-based singer Jidenna says Nigerians are known for scamming because they are smarter than a lot of people(Video)

The Classic Man popularly known as Jidenna made the comment during his time on popular New-York radio show, The Breakfast Club.

According to him, a lot of his countrymen are known to be scammers not because they are bad people, but simply because they are smarter than most people.

He went on to submit that since music stars from the country can be the best in Afrobeats, they can also be the best in hacking.

His photo caption also had a #phalloplasty. Phalloplasty is the construction or reconstruction of a penis or the artificial modification of the penis by surgery. The term phalloplasty is also occasionally used to refer to penis enlargement.

23 Nigerians await death in Saudi Arabia over drug-related offences (lists)

After some Nigerians was executed for their bad misconduct in Saudi Arabia, another set of 23 Nigerians are arraigned to be executed again for drug maliciousness.

EFCC arrests 10 ‘internet fraudsters’ in Delta

It was end of the road for 10 suspected internet fraudsters on Wednesday August 21, as they were arrested at thier hideout in an early morning operation by Operatives of the Benin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Sapele, Delta State.

The arrest was triggered by intelligence received by the Commission. The suspects are Abuwa Marvis, Ikpasa Efe, Abraham Idede, Maye Edefeose, Ovie Akpojevuehe and Akpotor Okeoghene. Others are Abuwa Jeffery, Ehirouture Precious, Best Lucky and Lucky Desmond.

Items recovered from them include lap top computers, mobile phones, flash drives, internet modems and charms (voodoo). The Commission also recovered a Toyota Venza from one of the suspect.

The suspects have made useful statements and will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.

Nigerian man commits suicide after changing his Facebook profile photo to poison bottle

Erestus Okpe was confirmed dead hours after changing his profile photo to a poison bottle, he has been confirmed dead via suicide by friends and family.

While the deceased’s friends on Facebook felt the profile photo change was a joke, they notified siblings of the Enugu-born social media user after they got no reply for their comments.

Okpe’s siblings found him dead after they rushed down to his Maiduguri home. The death of the Facebook user came as a rude shock to many, as no one knows the reason he committed suicide.

Full list of 77 Nigerians arrested by the FBI for cyber fraud

Yesterday LIB reported that the United States' Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced the arrest of 80 suspected internet fraudsters.



An update served on the arrest, revealed that 77 of the arrested suspects are Nigerians. They were accused of conspiring with federal and state agents to perpetrate the crime. Asides being involved in schemes that resulted in the transfer of at least $6 million which was obtained fraudulently, the suspects were also allegedly involved in the attempted theft of at least an additional $40 million.



US attorney, Nick Hanna said the suspects handed a total of 252 count charges bordering on “conspiracy to defraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering, aggravated identity theft”, had nicknames such as “Thank You Jesus”, “Son of God”, American Man”, God is God”, “He is Risen”.

The Federal Inland Service (FIRS) on Monday August 19, published a list of 19,901 accounts yet to update their tax status. 

Owners of the 19, 901 accounts were given 29 days to pay their tax or see it get deducted from their bank accounts. The notice read in parts;

“This is to notify all Companies, which had their Bank Accounts placed under Lien by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) pursuant to Section 31 of the FIRSE Act, but are yet to regularise their tax status with the FIRS, that if they fail, refuse or neglect to pay the tax due within 30 days of this Notice, the FIRS shall in accordance with Section 49 (2) (a- d) of the FIRSE Act proceed and enforce the payment of the said tax against all the Directors, Managers, Secretaries and every other person concerned in the management of the Companies and recover the said tax from such persons without further notice,” it said.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the above Section authorises the FIRS to proceed against and punish every officer, Manager, Director, Secretary or any person concerned with the management of the Company in like manner as if he/she had committed the offence.”

EFCC: We are Investigating Ambode

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Tuesday said it was investigating the administration of former Governor of Lagos State, Akinwumi Ambode.

“The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has since early hours of today, been inundated with calls that operatives of the commission raided the residence of the former governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode.

“We need to state for the records that the EFCC did not raid Ambode’s house. It is instructive that his administration, like other former governors is under investigation, since they no longer constitutionally enjoy immunity against prosecution.

“The commission hereby states with high sense of responsibility that the operatives did not raid Ambode’s residence”, the statement issued by its Spokesman, Tony Orilade, said.

While the commission insisted that it did not ‘raid’, Ambode’s residence, it however did not say in the statement whether its operatives were at the residence of the former governor or not on Tuesday morning.

Riot police have reportedly entered Hong Kong International Airport to disperse pro-Democracy protesters after demonstrations prompted officials to cancel all flights for the second day in a row.

“Hong Kong International Airport canceled all flights for the second straight day on Tuesday as crowds of anti-government protesters clashed with police as they continued to occupy the terminals,'

“Terminal operations at Hong Kong International Airport have been seriously disrupted, and all check-in processes have now been suspended,” the airport authority said in a statement.
